Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge

DCC take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks

With me&dee being the Derby Conference Centre's charity of the year, the staff wanted to achieve something that would raise much needed funds. Five of the staff have challenged themselves to complete the tough task of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

The five superstars are Rebecca Prime, Jessica Wood, Eleanor Sainsbury, Richard Hindley and Matt Hutchings and they will undertake this task on 5th October 2019. The team are in training at the moment and have already walked up Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, which in itself isn't a small thing to achieve.

Here is the schedule and route:

25 miles (1585m of ascent) with other groups and various guides.

06:15am – Meet at Chapel le Dale next to The Old Hill Inn for a safety briefing
06:45am – Start the challenge
08:00am (approx.) – Summit of Ingleborough
10:00am (approx.) – Arrive in Ribblesdale for first water top up and toilet break
11:30am (approx.) – Summit of Pen-y-Ghent
14:30 (approx.) – Ribblehead Viaduct for a second water top up
16:45 (approx.) – Summit of Whernside
18:45 (approx.) – Finish challenge back in Chapel le Dale for a drink at The Old Hill Inn

This looks like a pretty exhausting schedule over 12.5 hours! If you would like to support them please take time to visit their Virgin Money Giving page
