The support we have had before lockdown

Derby Conference Centre

Back in early March and just before the lockdown the conference centre held an evening with Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and during the event a raffle was held with all proceeds going to me&dee.

An amazing £350.00 was raised, thanks goes to Matt and all the staff for their continued support. Mark had the privilege of popping in to collect the cheque from Adam, no social distancing, remember that!

Love Business East Midlands & Bott Limited

Back at the start of the year after a conversation at a network meeting we received a promotional boost from van conversion specialist Bott, thanks to connections made through Love Business.

Ashby-based Bott, which specialises in van racking and vehicle graphics, transformed me&dee’s car with an impactful design to help raise awareness of the charity and support fundraising for its ambitious 20/20 vision step-change project.

Alpha Construction

A Christmas Jumper day was held for me&dee at Hilton Based, Alpha Construction. Maria went along to collect a cheque for £200 from Commercial Director, Anthony Bamford and enjoyed a coffee a chat, thanks to all the staff that took part and raised the money for us.

Hackwood Farm

Hackwood Farm have a Christmas tree sale leading up to the big day and as part of that they always donate a percentage to a local charity and in 2019 they chose me&dee. Again early in March and before lockdown Maria and Mark called in to collect a cheque for £325.00, it was great to meet the team and have a delicious cup of coffee, thanks to everyone who purchased their tree from Hackwood, if makes a difference.

Rolls-Royce Craft Group & Friends

It was early 2019 when Pat Jackson got in touch with me&dee to inform us that we where the chosen charity of the craft group for that year. The group are retired Rolls-Royce workers and friends who produce handcrafted items which are then sold to the public, all for charity. Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to support us, the photo above shows Maria excepting a cheque for £1,000, a fantastic amount of money which went towards our 20/20 Vision project.

The Cock Inn at Clifton

me&dee became the charity of the Inn after a Facebook vote, being tagged by Rona and Lorna, a call for action to our supporters followed and we won, the power of social media. Bex and Paul really did themselves proud with the help and support of their regulars as the fundraising raised a fantastic £500. Maria and Mark attended a great evening at the pub with a Casino Night being held with all proceeds going to me&dee. Thank you to everyone the contributed to the total, you have all made a difference and we are so glad that you are now one of our 20/20 Vision contributors.

Ashby Bowling Club

For the second year in a row the members of the bowling club selected me&dee as their charity of the year. In 2018 they raised £1,000 which was presented to Maria at the annual Christmas party. Its was a great honour to be chosen again for 2019 and once again the members supported the fundraising with a further £600 being raised so a total of £1,600 over a two year period, thank you for your support and all the best to the club for the future.

Bright & Beautiful Derby

Celebrating her two year business birthday and moving to new premises, Toni Hibbert wanted to throw a bit of a party and raise some money for me&dee. Toni is one of our Silver Sponsors and a great supporter of the charity. On rather a rainy night people attended, with a great cake sale, raffle and speedy ironing contest Toni raised £150, Mark and Maria attended the evening, enjoying the great atmosphere and meeting lovely people, thanks to Toni and everyone who supported the evening.

Newark Business Club

Early 2019 the business club were looking to support a charity for a 3 month period, a new conept for the club and thankfully we were nominated by Bill Ashley, a club member, and me&dee were put forward with two other charities to present at the next meeting. Mark attended the meeting, which was tough for him, a 7.00am start, and presented to the 100 attendees. A few weeks later me&dee were declared the winner and awarded £250 which was put towards the charities 20/20 Vision project.

Jim Leafe, around the world

Jim has been in the me&dee family now for some years and wanted to raise money as he took part in the 2nd leg of the  Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Jim got the idea after seeing a poster on the London underground, as you do, and chose to take the 2nd leg as his option, The South Atlantic Challenge, a truly inspiring thing to do. Thankfully everything went ok and he made it back to dry land safe and sound, raising an amazing £1,000. In January 2020 the attendees of Not Another Networking Group were treated to a presentation from Jim who gave an in-depth description of his high seas exploits, truly fascinating, thanks to everyone who supported Jim.

Etwall Primary School

That moment you get an email telling you that a school has chosen you as their charity of the year. Well that is what happened early 2020, an email from Hollie Milward, we love working with schools as its always nice to tell children of all ages about me&dee. Maria and Mark were thrilled to be asked to present to the school and 'Hope' elephant, our memory gift to families, always enjoys the cuddles she gets from the kids. With schools closed because of the lockdown at the moment we will come back to you as things take shape going forward, thanks to everyone for your support and it was great to meet everyone, Hope was all cuddled out by the time we left.
